If you’re flying into Cabo San Lucas, you do not need to complete the FMM (Forma Migratoria Múltiple) before your trip. The process happens at the airport after you land.
What is the FMM?
The FMM, also called the Mexico Tourist Card, is an entry permit required for visitors traveling to Mexico for tourism or business. It is not a visa—it’s simply proof of your legal entry.
How it works in Cabo
- Upon arrival at SJD Airport: After deplaning, you’ll go through immigration where you scan your passport at a kiosk.
- Printed slip: The machine will print your FMM on paper. This slip shows how many days you’re permitted to stay (up to 180 days).
- Keep it safe: You must keep this paper with your passport during your stay. You’ll be asked to return it when you leave Mexico
Before you travel
- No advance application or online form is needed.
- Just bring your valid passport.
- If your airline provides a paper FMM form on the plane, you can fill it out, but in Cabo the kiosk system usually replaces it.
Summary
You don’t need to do anything before your trip. When you arrive in Cabo, you’ll scan your passport, receive a printed FMM slip, and carry it with you until departure.
