When arriving in Cabo, all travelers must complete standard international arrival procedures, including immigration, customs, and baggage claim. Here’s what to expect:
What You’ll Need:
A valid passport A completed customs declaration form (usually distributed during your flight or available near immigration)
Arrival Process Overview:
Immigration
After landing, proceed to the immigration area. Present your passport and completed customs form to the officer.
Baggage Claim
Once through immigration, follow the signs to the baggage claim area and collect your checked luggage.
Customs
After retrieving your bags, proceed to the customs area. You’ll press a button that activates a randomized inspection system:
- Green light: Proceed without inspection
- Red light: A customs officer will inspect your luggage This process is routine and usually quick.
Exit the Terminal
After clearing customs, continue directly outside through the sliding doors marked “Groups” or “Pre-Arranged Transportation.”
Important: Do not stop to speak with anyone inside the terminal. The area between customs and the exit is known for aggressive timeshare sales agents and unauthorized transportation providers, many of whom may appear official or wear uniforms. These individuals can be extremely persistent and misleading. Please avoid all interaction and continue directly outside to locate your confirmed transportation.
Meet Your Transportation
Once outside the terminal, proceed to your pre-arranged shuttle, private driver, ride-share pickup zone, or taxi. If you’re unsure where to go, refer to the confirmation you received from your transportation provider.
Departure Instructions
When arranging your arrival transportation, be sure to also confirm your departure transfer in advance. Planning both legs of your trip ensures a smoother experience at the end of your stay.
If you’ve scheduled a departure transfer, you’ll receive your pickup time during your stay. Pickup times are based on your return flight and are generally scheduled for 2.5 to 3 hours prior to departure.
On Departure Day:
Be in the main lobby at least 15 minutes before your scheduled pickup time Complete checkout and have your luggage ready to go Keep your passport and flight information accessible
If you are arranging your own return to the airport, be sure to allow enough time for transportation, airline check-in, and security.
