Buyer vs. Guest — who's who on a reservation

Every reservation has one Buyer and one or more Guests. The Buyer is the person who paid for the reservation and manages it. Guests are the people actually traveling. Only the Buyer can log in to the dashboard, but you'll enter info for every Guest on the trip.

Buyer Information

What's the difference between a Buyer and a Guest?

  • Buyer — the person who paid for the reservation and manages it. Always one per reservation. Logs in to the dashboard.
  • Guest — the people actually traveling and staying in the room. Anywhere from one guest up to the room's maximum capacity.

In most cases the Buyer is also a Guest (they bought the trip and they're going). But not always — sometimes a Buyer purchases a room for someone else and isn't traveling at all (e.g., a parent booking for adult kids). The Buyer is still the only one who can log in.

I bought this trip for someone else — am I doing this right?

Yes. As the Buyer, you're in charge of the reservation and the only person who can log in. You'll still need to enter Guest info for everyone actually traveling, so you may need to collect things like passport details and dietary needs from them and enter it on their behalf.

How do I update my name, email, or other Buyer details?

Buyer info (your name, email on file, billing details) isn't editable on the dashboard — open a support ticket via Need Help? and we'll update it.

The buyer name at the top of the screen looks wrong — how do I fix it?

That's the Buyer Name on file. To change it, open a support ticket via Need Help?.

With the Buyer/Guest distinction clear, the next article walks through the actual work: filling out the seven required sections for each Guest.
